about the artist
Hi, I'm Kathleen Lennie, the artist behind im@gine. My art uses a wide variety of mediums and methods so there is sure to be something to your taste here, or if not, please let me know what you would like. My art education was at Massey University School of Art and Design in Wellington. I studied towards a design degree in computer graphics for two years before transfering to fine arts. My specialisation class was Toi Atea or Maori Visual Expression. My subject matter mainly concerns nature, in particular New Zealand flora, fauna and landscape, another repeated theme is anthropomorphism.

Greeting Cards...
Many of the artworks on this website are for sale. You will find prices listed at the bottom of the description. If you see something you like which is sold or not for sale please email me to discuss a commission for a similar work. Or if you have an idea for something completely different, I am always happy to see how I can help. Whether you need something as small as a greeting card or as complex as a large sculpture designed for a particular room or garden, please email me at kathleen@imagine.gen.nz and I will provide a quote and a timeframe for the work to be done.

medium and method
I paint in acrylics, watercolours, oils, dyes and a number of other mediums on many different surfaces including custom wood, stretched canvas, silk and bark. My sculpture involves materials such as paper, wood, clay, custom wood, stone, wax and bark. I do a lot of carving, both whakairo and European inspired techniques. Computer graphics is another art form I am skilled in, working mainly with Photoshop to produce photomontages which can be produced as prints or involved in other artworks.
